Summer Divemaster Training Program from Scratch: Build Your Underwater Career in Okinawa This is an intensive 6-8 month pre-employment training program (including a 1.5-month probation period), designed for individuals aspiring to enter the diving industry. We don't just teach you how to dive; we involve you in the actual operation of a dive shop, from basic courses to professional Divemaster internships, comprehensively developing your professional skills.

Participant Qualifications
- Visa Requirements: Must hold a valid Japanese residency status (e.g., working holiday visa, permanent residency, spouse visa, etc.).
- Language Proficiency: Fluent in Chinese and Cantonese (priority given to those with multiple language skills, such as English/Japanese).
- Driving License: Must hold a regular car driving license.
- Health Requirements: No major illnesses, must pass a doctor's evaluation and sign a diver medical examination form.
- Applicant Qualities: Possesses basic computer literacy, proactive, and loves the ocean.
- Personal Equipment: Must provide a full set of personal diving equipment (BCD, regulator, wetsuit, mask, fins) after the probation period.
Training Fees and Value
- PADI Open Water Diver (OW) Course 85,500 JPY
- PADI Advanced Open Water Diver (AOW) Course 81,500 JPY
- PADI Rescue Diver Course 85,500 JPY
- EFR Emergency First Responder Training 26,500 JPY
- PADI Divemaster Professional Course 540,000 JPY
- Professional Experience Accumulation Dives (Pre-DM 20 dives) 220,000 JPY
- Total Subsidy Value 1,039,000 JPY
Course Fee: 0 JPY (***Trainees are only responsible for PADI official materials and application fees)
Monthly Allowance & Benefits
To support trainees during the 6-month training period, we offer the following subsidies:
- Accommodation subsidy (or option to stay in dormitory)
- Lunch subsidy
- Living allowance (for good performers, starts after 2-3 months)
- Vehicle usage: Limited use of company vehicles (personal use on days off requires payment of basic fees)
- Post-training benefits: Basic monthly salary will be adjusted upon becoming a full DM, plus commissions, referral fees, and equipment sales bonuses.
- Duration: 6 - 8 months (including 1.5 months of probation)
- All course graduates can enjoy student discounts at our shop, applicable to all activities and equipment purchases.

Course Outline and Internship Content
Phase One: Foundation Building and Snorkeling Navigation (1-2 months)
- Complete OW, AOW theory and in-water training.
- Safety Prerequisite: Complete EFR (Emergency First Response) training, master basic CPR and first aid skills.
- Snorkeling Navigation Internship: Learn how to lead snorkeling groups, in-water safety monitoring, and marine life introduction.
- Learn dive equipment setup management and basic shop support.
- Learn diver safety and risk management.
- Participate in customer relationship management: welcoming and sending off guests, filling out forms, uploading activity photos, and communication.
- Professional Photography: Blue Grotto blue light photography, snorkeling, and discover scuba diving photography techniques.
Phase Two: Rescue and Experience Accumulation (3-4 months)
- Complete Rescue training.
- Accumulate 40 dives, learn dive site routes (Blue Grotto, Yamada Coral Farm).
- Practical Leadership: Participate in snorkeling and discover scuba diving (DSD) activities.
- Practical Workshops: Dive site mapping, professional dive briefings, ReActivate workshops.
Phase Three: DM Professional Internship (5-6 months)
- In-water Skills: 24 basic skill demonstrations, skill displays, search and recovery simulated scenarios.
- Professional Photography: Blue Grotto blue light photography, snorkeling, and discover scuba diving photography techniques.
- Practical Leadership: Assist instructors with courses, assist student divers, lead snorkeling and discover scuba diving (DSD) activities.
Trainee Responsibilities
- Snorkeling and introductory diving guide/assistant
- Pre-dive and pre-snorkeling briefings
- Dive shop operational support
- Guest reception and send-off, tank/equipment preparation, etc.
- General cleaning including equipment washing, toilet cleaning, facility washing, and beach clean-up, etc.
- Shop responsibilities: customer service, guiding customers to fill out activity forms, processing and reporting daily cash receipts, uploading and sending activity photos to customers, confirming with customers, etc.
- Assisting the company with other ongoing businesses and activities.
- Diving industry and career development.
- Protecting the diving environment.
What do I need to bring?
- After probation: Must provide a full set of personal professional equipment (BCD, regulator, wetsuit, mask, fins).
- Swimsuit, beach sandals, towel, one passport-sized photo.
Please Note
- 1.5 Month Probation Period: This program includes a 1.5-month probationary assessment period. If a trainee's performance or skills do not meet our company's professional standards, the training program will be terminated.
- Fee Explanation: The above subsidies do not include PADI official material fees, certification application fees, and annual membership fees after graduation.
- Contractual Obligation: If the 6-month contract is not completed and ends prematurely, the trainee must pay all course fees for the period already participated in.
- Shop Responsibilities: Includes environmental cleaning (washing equipment, facilities, and beach clean-up, etc.).
- No flying within 18 hours after diving.
- Our shop may use activity photos for promotional purposes. Please inform us in advance if you do not wish your photos to be used.
